Ultimate guide to the city that never sleeps. Bangkok, Thailand
We have now visited this crazy city twice and each time we have come there is just so much to do! This city really just is gigantic. There is really great public transportation that is pretty cheap that can take you from one side of the city to the next.
VISIT THE TEMPLES
The list just goes on and on of all of the magnificent temples in the city of Bangkok. Here is a list of some of our favorite temples in the city. Make sure to respect the religion and wear clothing that covers most of the skin. On our first trip to Bangkok we were unaware of these strict rules, therefore we had to cross the street to a vendor who covered me up with 3$ worth of clothing (see picture below)

Eat the street food
Khao San Road is probably the most popular street that has the most vendors selling all different types of food. This is where you can get more bang for your buck for sure. All the restaurants are going to charge steep prices for meals so if you are on a budget which most people are traveling through thailand- try the street food for the cheapest price. Many people are worrisome to try the street food as they think it is unsanitary. Though it may be, you can opt for the fresh fruit or juice instead of an animal product.

Use the public transportation to get around
Yes getting a taxi or Grab app is more convenient but you are going to pay top dollar for these. The first time in Bangkok we got a taxi from the airport to our hotel and its costed us about $15 however this last time we were there we hopped on the public bus and it costed us $1 each!!!! The entire time we were in Bangkok this last time we used the public transportation and we saved so much money by doing it this way. Yes, we got lost a few times as google transportation isn’t used much her but that is the fun of it!! There are many different types of transportation in the city that not many people know about. If you get lost- just ask a local, they have helped us out many of times!!!!
Public bus- costs $1 or less depending how far
Local boat- costs $.50 (BE CAREFUL WITH THIS OPTION AS IT IS CLOSE TO THE TOURIST BOAT… YOU MUST ASK FOR LOCAL BOAT TICKET)
Metro- costs $1.10
Tuk Tuk- you can bargin the price with the locals, NEVER TAKE THE PRICE THEY OFFER.
Go to the giant shopping malls
Bangkok is full of shopping malls on every corner. Since the weather outside is usually hot and humid sometimes it is nice to step inside the giant shopping malls just to cool off and see how gigantic they make the malls! Here is a list of some of the most popular malls around the city.

When booking a hotel in Bangkok
Since the public transportation in Bangkok is super affordable- it doesn’t really matter where you book your hotel as you can just hop on the metro and get to a different part of town. The only recommendation we can give about booking a hotel is that is includes a POOL. This city is unbelievably hot and humid so after a day out exploring, a dip in the pool is the best thing to help cool you down after. We also like to book hotels that include breakfast, even if its just for the morning cup of coffee and toast.
